Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
We collaborated on an exciting promotional film project with professional film company Byron Film. Students have been involved in every stage of the production, from concept development and casting, to sound, film and editing.
Our students made national headlines as they became one of the first schools in Australia to take part in a Day of AI challenge to educate them on the impact of AI-driven misinformation and how to become safe and ethical users of this powerful new technology.
We redesigned some of our learning spaces to better suit the way our students want to learn. A group of students worked with educational architect Fiona Young to come up with innovative ideas that are now in place around our school.
Hospitality students made scones with residents from St Andrews Aged Care as part of a Back to School Day for our nursing home friends.
Our U15s Basketball Team proved they are the best in the state by winning the NSWCHS knockout state final.
Our much loved annual and original MADD production explored the stories behind the most famous artists and artworks in the world in 'Framed'.
Some of our senior students attending the Ballina Chamber of Commerce International Women's Day event.
Our annual snow trips are always a highlight on our students' calendars. Year 10 students hit the slopes just a couple of weeks after our Year 11 & 12 Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation (SLR) students returned from their week of fresh powder and blue skies.
Our Aboriginal Dance Group had the honour of performing the Welcome to Country at this year's Bluesfest.
Local business leaders joined us for a Business Breakfast to share industry insights and to hear how Ballina Coast High School is preparing capable, confident and job-ready graduates for our community's future.
We kicked off the school year with a fun new Orientation Week program focused on relationship building, school values and expectation setting to set students up for success.
"I am so proud to say that my kids attend Ballina Coast High School, and that's because of the wonderful staff and the awesome culture they have created.” — Mandy, parent of students at Ballina Coast High School
