Hub
About our Hub program
Our Hub program is something special.
We know learning and wellbeing go hand-in-hand. At Ballina Coast High School our Hub program builds connections and confidence, ensuring every student feels known, valued and cared for.
How it works
Each year group has a Year Adviser and a team of Learning Coaches who work together to support learning and wellbeing.
Students are allocated to a Hub class where each morning their coach will make time to get to know them, check in regularly and be there to support them to stay on track.
Hub class is a time for connection, reflection and growth.
What happens in Hub?
As well as being a time to strengthen the relationship between coach and student, Hub lessons focus on:
- building friendships and teamwork
- learning important life and study skills
- getting involved in the school and community
- learning how to look after your wellbeing
Your Hub coach is your go-to person at school. They will:
- help you find the right support when you need it
- talk to your family often
- teach lessons about wellbeing and learning
