Year 6 Aboriginal Students will take part in an 'On Country' Transition Day at Cabbage Tree Island at Ngunya Jargoon Aboriginal Protected Area Reserve and South Ballina Beach. Students will learn on-site significant cultural and Aboriginal histories.
This program is to promote cultural and social support for the ATSI students who are transitioning into high school. It allows the students to engage in cultural team-building activities with their peers from other schools and give them a chance to get to know their new surroundings and teachers for next year.
There will be our BCHS bus available to pick up students from Ballina Coast High School @ 9 am, Ballina PS @ 9.20 am Wardell BP Service Station @ 9.40 am.
Students are to bring water bottle, packed recess and lunch and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.
Venue: Ngunya Jargoon Aboriginal Protected Area Reserve, Cabbage Tree Island and South Ballina Beach.
