Learning Hub

The Ballina Coast High School (BCHS), Learning HUB program is one of the key components of our wellbeing and learning program. The HUB program ensures that every student is known, valued and cared for.

Students belong in a Hub group which meets for the first 25 minutes of each school day. Students build relationships by staying in the same Hub group with the same teacher (Learning Coach) from Year 7 to 12.

During Hub a curriculum is delivered, focusing on:

- developing social skills and learning skills.

- connecting with community.

- building student capacity to work as team.

A morning roll call and daily notices also occur each morning in Hub.

The Year Advisor for each year group leads a team of Learning Coaches that meet to plan and support individual students learning and wellbeing needs. The team also devise their HUB curriculum focusing on the needs of the year group during this time.
