BALLINA SHIRE STEPS UP AGAINST DOMESTIC & FAMILY VIOLENCE

Description: BCHS students will be participating in the community walk, raising awareness and educating about domestic and family violence. All students years 7-10 will be participating, unless they choose to 'opt out'. Senior classes will run as normal, with seniors having the option to 'opt in.

Students will go to the first half of period 3 before being let out of class at 12:25.

The Agenda for participating students is as follows:

12:25 - students meet at sports hall for a quick assembly, before being walked to La Balsa Plaza Carpark (next to Ballina Swimming Pool)

1pm - Ballina Steps Up Against Domestic and Family Violence Walk begins.

1:20pm - Students seated in the BISC. Musical performances and cultural dances from BCHS students. Listen to guest speakers Detective Inspector Grant Erickson - Crime Manager, Richmond Police District and Jacque Lachmund - Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Council

2pm - at the conclusion of presentations in the BISC, students will go back to school for a 30 minute break before going to period 5.
