The Targeted Sports Program (TSP) is a sports program delivered before school by qualified Teaching Staff and External Coaches. It aims to develop student skills, knowledge and understanding of their sport of choice. The 2024 Sports in the TSP program were; Basketball, Football (Soccer), Rugby Codes, Surfing, Strength and Conditioning and Mountain Biking.
*Strength and Conditioning - Offers resistance training programs (Focusing on injury prevention / strength / Power development and fundamental gym movements) for students in sports not offered and are competing at a representative level e.g. a Cricketer / Netballer / AFL / Athletics etc.
Targeted Sports Program 2025 - Application process and timeline:
● ONLINE SURVEY - Week 8 - 10, Term 4 2024 - .
To assist in our planning for the Targeted Sports Program (TSP) in 2025, we are asking parents of students interested in the program to please complete the survey below. The information gathered will assist with the staffing, sports and delivery of TSP in 2025.
● REGISTRATION - Week 2, Term 1 (3 - 9 February) 2025 - Students register/sign on with coaches/staff. A link will be sent out during this time for an online option. This process will be completed during HUB lessons or student breaks.

The trials/tasters for each sport will take place from Tuesday 11 February 2025 at 7:30 am. Please don’t stress if you cannot attend all these sessions.
● TRIALS/TASTER - Week 3 amd 4, Term 1 2025 - Students participate in the trails/taster which will take place Tues / Thurs morning 7:30am - 8:30am at BCHS venues or Beaches (Surfing) / Duck Creek (MTB).
● SQUADS ANNOUNCED - Week 4 Friday, Term 1 2025 - Students accepted into the programs will have parent packages emailed home and access to purchase uniforms.
* The Targeted Sports Program is a user pays program and the fees for our program go towards; equipment, coaching, administration and travel. Fees for each sport are outlined in the parent information packs.
The TSP Students experience quality coaching and are provided with a variety of sports specific learning experiences throughout the year. The program is designed to foster the athletes of tomorrow and help our students on their athletic journey.
Training session take place;
Tuesday and Thursday mornings on the BCHS grounds from 7:30 am - 8:45 am.*Surfing uses local beaches and is subject to conditions / MTB access to Duck Creek.
After training students have time to be prepared for lessons.
The program complements BCHS’s, NSW CHS sports teams and encourages personal excellence. Students in the program must maintain high attendance and behaviour expectations and represent their school with pride.
TSP Students will:
● Participate in weekly sport specific training programs that will help develop athletes in their chosen sports, improving fundamental skills, knowledge and fitness.
● Be provided a variety of opportunities to compete and represent in their chosen sport.
● Access external high-quality coaching and development opportunities through affiliated and complementary sporting bodies.
● Develop their personal understanding and knowledge of training and health components that build successful athletes.
