Growing Together, Creating Futures:
Thursday 17th March we welcomed the graduates of 2022 to the first of a series of transition events to be held over the course of 2016.
Parents and students discovered how we hope to bring the graduates of 2022 together next year on the Southern Cross site.
Parents and Students:
· Learned about the new approach to personalising the delivery of the curriculum
· Witnessed inquiry based learning in progress
· Participated in an inquiry based learning activity
The Graduates of 2022 at our school will:
· Have more choice and more voice in their learning
· Become part of the history of a changing education environment
· Be one of the first cohort of students entering a new futures focused purpose built
high school in Ballina.
· Be in a school that will lead future education in NSW and across Australia.
The staff at Ballina High School and Southern Cross K-12 believe that young people are ambitious, creative and capable of rethinking the world and solving tomorrow's problems today. We are very proud of the good work being done in our schools; using current research to be at the forefront of future learning. Our staff are committed to delivering quality opportunities for the graduates of 2022 and we have been working hard to change the way we teach and understand what is needed to become successful learners in a contemporary world. We aim to connect with and inspire our young change makers - the innovators, the creators, the dreamers, and thinkers of tomorrow.
